Overview

If you are a Board approved supervisor and working in the Organisational Psychology field, we would like to invite you to join us in this new COP Circle. You may be already supervising Placement students, supporting Registrars or just thinking about how to get involved in supervision again. All are welcome.

This Supervision Community of Practice is being established to support and grow our community of supervisors in the Organisational Psychology field. Effective and supportive supervision is the engine room of growth for our speciality. Without it, our future practitioners may not achieve their full potential to have impact in the world of work.

This COP Circle will meet quarterly to share knowledge, resources and explore issues and opportunities. The idea is to establish a larger group of supervisors, build relationships between them, and support the establishment of smaller peer supervision groups that can meet more regularly.

The focus for this first session will be on establishing the supervisor-supervisee relationship. If you have tools or processes that you use to establish a strong foundation for supervision, please come prepared to share some ideas or resources.

COP Circle is a collection of Communities of Practice tailored for our organisational psychology community (OP) to support connection, support and collaborative learning. Based on the principles of peer support, evidence-based practice and knowledge exchange, COP Circles provide a supportive environment for professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, access resources, and stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field of organisational psychology. Other COP Circles will be established, based on interest and demand, over the coming months. Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

• Actively reflect on their own practice in establishing the supervisory relationship.
• Apply one new idea for establishing stronger supervisory relationships.
• Connect with a wider group of supervisor colleagues.

Dr. Tracy Martin

About the presenter(s)

Tracy is an organisational psychologist and Board approved supervisor with extensive experience in both industry and academia. She is currently the National Lead - Professional Excellence for the College of Organisational Psychologists. In this role she aims to support emerging and experienced people working in the Organisational Psychology field to learn and grow. She provides internal supervision in the UQ Masters of Organisational Psychology program and works with Registrars. She has a multi-disciplinary background in organisational psychology, information systems and chemical engineering and her industry experience spans mining, chemicals, professional services, engineering projects, information technology, media and higher education.

Target Audience

This activity is aimed at Board approved supervisors working in the Organisational Psychology field.

• This is a Member Groups event. All communication will be sent to the registrants’ registered email address. This includes event reminders with details (such as the venue details, zoom link) and any pre-event or post-event resources, if provided by the facilitators.
• A post-event email will be sent within two weeks of the event’s completion to each registrant’s registered email address. This email will include the CPD certificate, and any additional resources shared during the session.

It is up to attendees to assess and determine how learning from this event aligns with the requirements of their learning plan. The providers accordingly do not make any representation that the event counts towards attendees’ CPD learning requirements. If an attendee determines themselves that the learning they complete aligns to their learning plan, then they can decide to count those hours towards their CPD requirements for the registration cycle.
