Webinar (Live) Event

Psychosocial Interventions for People with Child Sexual Abuse Material Offending

Overview

This webinar will focus on psychosocial intervention for individuals who have engaged in, or are at risk of engaging in, child sexual abuse material (CSAM) offending. Using Risk-Needs-Responsivity and offence formulation frameworks, the webinar will review the factors that predispose, precipitate, and perpetuate CSAM offending and explore how these can be addressed in individual and group-based treatment. It will provide strategies for individualising treatment and managing treatment targets in time-limited settings. Prevalent personality presentations among people with CSAM offences will also be reviewed, alongside responsivity, risk management, and mandatory reporting considerations most likely to arise during treatment.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Apply risk, need, and responsivity considerations when working with people with CSAM offences
  • Identify ways to adapt offence-specific interventions for individual and group contexts
  • Understand risk management and mandatory reporting considerations relevant to this client group
