I need to reset my password

Passwords are a critical component for securing your access to the APS systems and a strong password is important to protect personal and organisational data from unauthorise access.

Listed below are the available methods on how to reset your password and guidelines on how to manage a secure password.

There are two methods to reset your APS password, via the Dashboard or the Forgot Password link.

A. Dashboard method

If you remember your current password, you can reset it via your dashboard.

1. Log in to your account and go to your dashboard here: https://psychology.org.au/membership/update-password

2. Enter your current password and your new password. Make sure your new password meets the password requirements as per the website.

3. Click on the “Submit” button to save your changes.

B. Forgot password method

If you have forgotten your current password or our system indicates you need to change your password, you can request a password reset link via email.

1. Go to the homepage: https://psychology.org.au/ and log out of your account if you are currently logged in.

2. Click on “Login” located in the top right-hand corner of the page.

3. Click on the “Forgot password” link.

4. Enter your User ID, Last Name and click on the Send Link button. Your user ID is a 6-digit number assigned to your membership, not your email address.

5. A password reset link will be sent to the email address we have on file. Please check your inbox and spam folder for the email. If you find the email in your spam folder, move it to your primary inbox before clicking on the link.

6. After clicking on the link from the email, a Password Reset window will open. Enter the New Password twice then click on the Change my Password button. Make sure your new password meets the password requirements as per the website.

Considerations to keep in mind:

  • Please ensure your new password meets all the requirements as per the website.
  • Consider using a password manager to securely store and manage passwords.
  • Save your new password securely and be aware that autofill may not update across all our platforms.
  • Update your password regularly.
  • Do not share passwords with anyone.

Avoiding common mistakes:

  • Do not include personal information such as names, birthdays, usernames or company name in the password.
  • Avoid using dictionary words or common phrases.
  • Consider using paraphrases or acronyms that are easy to remember but difficult for others to guess.
  • Avoid sequential or repetitive characters (e.g. 123456 or aaaaa)

For any questions or concerns regarding your password or if you’re still having a login issue, please contact our Member Services team at [email protected] or call us on 1800 333 497. We will be happy to support you.
