We offer a range of memberships based on where you’re at in your psychology career journey.

Student Subscriber

Student Subscriber

You qualify for APS Student Subscriber grade if you are enrolled in an APAC-accredited psychology program or enrolled in a postgraduate research degree, like a PhD, in psychology.

Associate Member (Assoc MAPS)

Associate Member (Assoc MAPS)

Associate Members have finished a 4th year APAC-accredited program and usually hold Provisional registration. They can be identified by the postnominal "Assoc MAPS" following their name.

When seeking guidance from an APS Member, the public can trust they are engaging with a dependable and trustworthy professional. APS Members can be identified by the postnominal "MAPS" after their name.

Afilliates

Afilliates

Affiliate grade is offered to individuals who have either completed a three-year APAC-accredited psychology program or hold qualifications in other disciplines recognised by the Board, such as non-psychologist health professionals registered with AHPRA.

Fellow (FAPS)

Fellow (FAPS)

Fellows are esteemed Members of the APS. They are senior psychologists who have made a significant contribution to the APS and the profession over a significant period of time.

Honorary Fellow (Hon FAPS)

Honorary Fellow (Hon FAPS)

The grade of Honorary Fellow may be bestowed on Fellows of the APS who have made an extraordinary contribution to the advancement of the APS and a distinguished contribution to the advancement of psychological knowledge or practice.

Student FAQs

Proof of enrolment

You can provide proof of enrolment in the following ways: 

  • an electronic screen shot of your student online portal, or; 
  • a signed letter of confirmation from the higher education provider, or 
  • a summary of enrolment stamped and signed by the higher education provider, or enrolment advice and fee help liability. 

We will accept high quality images or digital scans of the above documents which must include your full name, university name and logo, course name and enrolment confirmation in 2024. 

Postgraduate students

New to the APS? You may be eligible for FREE membership.

This offer is available to new members currently enrolled in an APAC-accredited fifth year or fifth and sixth year psychology degree, or postgraduate research degree in psychology.

If you apply within 12 months^ of completing your 5th and 6th year course requirements or since gaining general registration you will receive a 50% discount in your first year of membership.
