Climate change

Climate change is caused by an excess of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere which are increasing temperatures and driving unpredictable weather patterns around the world.

Addressing climate change is an essential and urgent task if we are to have a chance of restoring a safe climate for humans and other species.

Psychologists are particularly interested in climate change because not only is it caused by human behaviour, and threatens human health and wellbeing, but the solutions to climate change require profound changes in human behaviour. We are interested in how to help people understand climate change, how to cope with it, and how to get involved in effectively addressing climate change.
