The independently chaired Ahpra Accreditation Committee (the committee) recently conducted a public consultation on its proposed initial glossary of accreditation terms. The glossary aims to establish a shared language and understanding of the committee's advice across different professions, National Scheme entities, and external stakeholders. At present, different language is used across these stakeholders to describe various aspects of accreditation and the issues referred by Health Ministers to the committee.
The purpose of the glossary is to support interpretation and implementation of the committee’s advice. The APS provided a submission to the public consultation on the proposed glossary. Based on member feedback, the APS proposed several recommendations aimed at making the glossary more inclusive and relevant to the profession of psychology.
