Introduction to Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO) the IFS Level 2 specialisation for relationships

Overview

Join us for an engaging introductory webinar that blends lecture, experiential learning, and video demonstrations to bring the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model to life. Discover how Intimacy from the Inside Out© (IFIO) offers powerful tools for helping individuals and couples deepen connection and resolve relationship challenges.

You will gain a clear overview of the IFIO approach which is an official IFS Level 2 specialisation accredited by the IFS Institute, and about learn practical interventions you can apply in your work with relationships of any kind. The full IFIO training model offers multiple therapeutic interventions for relationships. This introductory webinar is ideal for psychologists, therapists, and counsellors who work with people in relationship. No prior IFS training or completion of the Level 1 IFS training is required to attend.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Understand repetitive fights and how this painful dance of conflict between protector parts can keep people stuck in a neurobiological pattern of protection.
  • Support clients to Unblend from protector parts to facilitate co-regulation, in order that people become a resource for one another.
  • Understand what it means to have courageous conversations.
  • Understand why intrapsychic work in relationship therapy can be deeply healing.

Kate Dempsey

About the presenter(s)

Kate Dempsey is a Level 3 Certified IFS Therapist and an Approved IFS Clinical Consultant with the IFS Institute. She is on staff with the IFIO teaching team for international Level 2 trainings of relationship therapists as a program assistant. Kate is also accredited by the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS) as both a Clinical Psychosexual Therapist and Sexuality Educator. She lectures at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, within their Postgraduate Program for Sexual and Reproductive Health, and is an embedded contractor at a psychiatric hospital, facilitating sessions on ‘Sexual Function and PTSD’ within an accredited Trauma Recovery Program for veterans and first responders. Kate is an affiliate member of the APS and an approved supervisor with ACA and SAS.

Target Audience

This event is aimed at psychologists and therapists interested in IFS and/or relationships and couples work.

Duration of Access

This event will be recorded. The recording will be emailed to all registered within 2 weeks post event and available for viewing up to 90 days.
