APS College
Overview
The CCN NSW Section warmly invites you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be held ONLINE. This year we plan to hold it during business hours in an effort to accommodate Members' requests. Join us to reflect on the work we’ve achieved during the last 12 months and share your ideas for what comes next. We'd love to hear your comments and suggestions.
The meeting will be followed by a presentation from our NSW CCN Committee Student Representative, Grace Cauchi, a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology candidate at Macquarie University.
DATE: Wednesday 5th November 2025
AGM: 2:00 - 2:30 pm
PRESENTATION: 2:30 - 3:00 pm
Brief Presentation Abstract: We often talk about how treatments affect children’s cognition, but what if the biggest clues are there before surgery even begins? This review sifted through nearly 1700 papers to find the preoperative predictors of cognitive outcomes after paediatric brain tumour resection. The findings? Limited evidence, high bias, and a clear message: it’s time to bring neuropsychology to the front line of paediatric tumour care.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:
- Summarise key achievements, challenges, and financial highlights from the past year.
- Identify priority goals, projects, and roles open for nomination for the coming year.
- Describe major preoperative predictors (e.g., tumour location and histology, hydrocephalus/raised ICP, seizure history, treatment urgency, baseline neurocognitive profile, age at diagnosis) linked to postoperative cognitive outcomes.
