electronic Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Overview

This eLearning activity is the next iteration of the ATAPS T-CBT training activity developed previously by the APS.

It provides a brief review of the eCBT approach and focusses on adapting CBT to delivery by electronic media, areas covered include:

  1. Overview of eCBT,

  2. Getting ready for eCBT, and

  3. Reaching clients.

This activity assumes learners have a fundamental understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is not intended to provide comprehensive training in CBT.

To refresh your knowledge of CBT, the APS suggests completion of the APS Principles and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy eLearning activity.

Foundational.This activity is targeted to those new to the topic.

Duration of access

Access to this eLearning activity is for 6 months from the date of confirmed registration.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this eLearning activity, participants should be able to:

  • identify and define key factors relating to the electronic delivery of CBT,

  • explain the role of eCBT within the stepped care model,

  • articulate the evidence base of eCBT,

  • demonstrate an understanding of assessment, case formulation and intervention delivery on an electronic platform, and

  • identify ethical considerations relating to eCBT.
