Supervisors: Educational and Developmental Psychology needs you!

Overview

This year in Australia there are over 200 students undertaking Masters level studies in Educational and Developmental Psychology. These courses are highly competitive and attract an enthusiastic, talented and diverse group of candidates who contribute meaningfully to a range of practicum placement sites. In order for Universities to continue to train Ed and Dev psychologists to support our communities, they need supervisors to provide these vital learning opportunities. Supervising a University placement student is a rewarding way to contribute to the ongoing growth of our area of practise and the support provided to supervisors by the Universities means this is a great way for new supervisors to put their training to work.

Please join us for a conversation with current Educational and Developmental supervisors from a range of placement settings, as well as course representatives, to ask your questions and learn how you can impact the ongoing strength and growth of Educational and Developmental Psychology in Australia.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • understand the value that Masters students on placement bring to our workplaces
  • understand how supervising students on placement works and the support available from Universities
  • make contact with Universities to express their interest in supporting students to complete their studies
