Pre-Budget Submission 2021-2022

The APS contributed to the Federal Government’s 2021-22 Budget planning, following the annual call for Pre-Budget submissions.

The APS called upon the Government to invest in psychologists and psychological science in recommendations that we see as a foundational step towards achieving the Government's ambitious mental health reform agenda.

Our submission called for the Federal Government to:

1. Improve mental health outcomes among school age children
2. Build psychological capabilities within the aged care sector
3. Invest in workplace mental health and wellbeing
4. Improve social and economic outcomes for people with mental illness
5. Use technology to improve mental healthcare
6. Strengthen the psychological workforce
7. Invest in psychological research
