Submission to Royal Commission Consultation Paper: Redress and civil litigation

This APS submission made in 2015 is in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse Consultation Paper Redress and Civil Litigation, and focuses on the psychological aspects of redress and civil litigation.

The APS supports the rights of victims/survivors of institutional child abuse to seek redress and pursue civil litigation.

This submission provides feedback about principles for counselling and psychological care, existing services and service gaps, the relative effectiveness and efficiency of the options for service provision and funding in meeting survivors’ needs, and what constitutes an appropriate redress scheme.
