The APS was pleased to respond to the Ahpra Board Accreditation Committee public consultation regarding draft principles for the use of outcome-based approaches to accreditation. The APS commended the Committee for progressing draft principles for the use of outcome-based approaches to accreditation and for including case studies in its draft guidance that illustrate these principles.
While endorsing the draft principles, the APS recommended that the Committee consider the inclusion of resources that support accreditation authorities in meeting their data management obligations. The APS also recommended that the Committee and National Boards monitor the impact that implementation an outcomes-based approach to accreditation has on students and education providers to ensure that any additional impost from implementing this approach can be sustainably managed.
