Submission to Vision 2030 Roadmap for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

Overall the APS agrees with the priorities and opportunities outlined in the Vision 2030 Roadmap.

The main challenge for the implementation of the Roadmap will be to ensure consistency across the system, in particular: 

• Definition and measurement
• A ‘whole of government’ approach across multiple jurisdictions and policy frameworks
• Ensuring consumers are matched to appropriately qualified health professionals across the spectrum, and
• Governance and funding changes across different fiscal regimes.

The APS recommends that all key stakeholder groups are enabled to work together to ensure that the implementation of the Vision 2030 Roadmap is consistent with the intention of the reform agenda put forward by the Productivity Commission.
