The APS acknowledges the decisive action taken by the Australian Government in the early stages of the pandemic which was effective in containing the spread of the virus.
The APS strongly endorses the Government’s investments in mental health and its recognition of the short, medium and long term mental health implications of COVID-19.
In this submission, the APS details its views on the Government response and makes five specific recommendations considered necessary to ensure that the Australian community is able to access the necessary mental health support both now and into the future.
