APS Response to Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme: NDIS Planning

The APS supports the inquiry into the role and funtion of NDIS planners as they are key in ensuring participants are appropriately matched to required psychosocial support services. 

In this submission, the APS recommends:

• A comprehensive review of planner functions and minimum qualifications and training
• Developing minimum practice standards and guidance material for planners 
• Ensuring appropriate governance structures for the planning functions in the NDIS
• Improvement to how plan work for the benefit of the consumers and to support continuity of care
