All great publications require a refresh and a refreshed approach to stay relevant and integral to people’s lives. Late last year I shared news that InPsych would transform into a fully digital format. Now, I am pleased to share the first version of our product with you.
You told us that flexibility and ease of access were important, and that online news and information is where your habits lie. Our digital magazine gives you an excellent reader experience at your fingertips which you can access through the website. It also supports our commitment to environmental sustainability and our focus on digital transformation.
In this issue you’ll find the launch of our position statement on psychedelics and psychedelic-assisted therapy – a possible new frontier in mental health treatment and for psychologists. If and when the time comes for this approach to be adopted in Australia, we will make sure that evidence-based psychology practices are at the centre of what we do.
Also in this issue we explore the important findings from our member survey earlier this year on the impacts of the pandemic on practice, revealing that demand continues to rise, as do wait times. Our article on long COVID shows that psychological distress is impacting social and occupational functioning and quality of life. And our pieces on internal family systems therapy and creating an effective employee assistance program sector provide excellent case studies and recommendations.
You will also continue to find the items that you have grown to know and love from InPsych, including practising psychology alerts, comfortably compliant and our research snapshot. We will be adding more features and go-to reading as we move ahead with your new digital magazine.
In 2022 and beyond you will continue to see digital developments and solutions to your needs. Along with our publications, you’ll experience new and improved ways of accessing your CPD and events, more updates to our new website, and streamlined access points across our online offerings. If you have more ideas on how to make life even easier, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to [email protected] to let the team know.
