Overview

As part of its commitment to supporting psychologists through regulatory change, the APS is delivering a webinar series designed to help members understand and apply the revised AHPRA Code of conduct and updated Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) competencies.

This webinar series is part of the APS’s broader effort to ensure psychologists are informed, confident, and equipped to meet new regulatory expectations while maintaining ethical, culturally safe, and professional practice.

Webinars include the following topics, with more to be added in due course:

  1. Introduction to the new AHPRA Code of conduct and Competencies for psychologists
  2. Privacy and confidentiality, consent, and record keeping in line with the new Code of conduct
  3. Boundaries and multiple relationships in line with the new Code of conduct

2. Privacy and confidentiality, consent, and record keeping in line with the new Code of conduct

This webinar explores the critical areas of privacy, confidentiality, informed consent, and record keeping within the context of the revised AHPRA Code of conduct for psychologists. As these areas are fundamental to ethical and professional practice, this webinar will provide timely guidance on how recent updates to the Code affect day-to-day decision-making and documentation responsibilities.

Through realistic case scenarios and discussion, participants will engage with practical examples that highlight common challenges and best-practice responses in managing sensitive information and professional records.
