APS helps members maintain their membership by offering discounted fees in various circumstances.

Income
There are many different circumstances that can impact your financial situation. Whether you've been out of the workforce for a period due to unemployment or family care responsibilities, working casually with reduced hours, working part-time due to illness or disability or returning to work from parental leave, your level of income may make you eligible for a discount to your membership fees.
Parental leave
If you are a current member on parental leave (or will commence parental leave during an APS membership year), you are eligible for a membership fee discount.
Retired or transitioning to retirement
If you are a current member and fully retired, you are eligible for an ongoing discount on your membership fees. If you are transitioning to retirement, or planning to do so within an APS membership year, certain parameters apply for eligibility of this discount. We encourage all our members, including those in semi-retirement, to apply for this discount.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members
In recognition of the extensive kinship systems inherent to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities who provide substantial financial support to others, the APS offer a discount to AIPA members.

Early Career
The APS reduces membership fees to help early career members in the early stages of their psychology careers. If eligible, this discount are applied automatically at the time you join, upgrade or reinstate your APS membership. For more info, please contact our Membership team via [email protected].
Studying psychology
If you are studying an APAC-accredited degree or postgraduate research degree in psychology you are eligible for the APS student subscriber rate.
Internship
If you are provisionally registered undertaking the 4 + 2 or 5 + 1 internship program you are eligible for the student subscriber rate.
