Fee discounts

Income

There are many different circumstances that can impact your financial situation. Whether you've been out of the workforce for a period due to unemployment or family care responsibilities, working casually with reduced hours, working part-time due to illness or disability or returning to work from parental leave, your level of income may make you eligible for a discount to your membership fees.

Parental leave

If you are a current member on parental leave (or will commence parental leave during an APS membership year), you are eligible for a membership fee discount.

Retirement

If you are a current member and fully retired, you are eligible for an ongoing discount on your membership fees. If you are transitioning to retirement, or planning to do so within an APS membership year, certain parameters apply for eligibility of this discount. We encourage all our members, including those in semi-retirement, to apply for this discount.

Life members

APS members who have maintained membership for 50 years are eligible for ongoing complimentary membership as well as all existing subscriptions and group memberships.

APS membership fee increases
Each year, the costs associated with maintaining the premium services you have come to expect from Australia’s peak psychology organisation are assessed. As with all membership organisations, these are subject to many factors both internal and external, and affected by CPI, government funding, partnership negotiations, member numbers and benefit enhancement investments.

As a not-for-profit charity organisation, what you can be assured of is that all membership funds are re-invested into what we deliver our members. Everything we do is for the benefit of our members based on what they need, what they’ve asked for and what the profession demands.
