Sex and relationships series: Sex therapy principles in everyday practice

Organiser Banner

Overview

Sex and relationship series

Issues of sex, sexual expression, and libido are common symptoms of many mental health concerns. However, it is not often considered in standard practice.

This webinar will aim to help clinicians become more adept at applying sex therapy principles to the treatment of general mental health concerns, such as depression and anxiety. It will explain sexual diagnoses and common myths that both clinicians and clients often hold and it will introduce ways in which sex therapy principles can be integrated into common therapeutic frameworks, such as relational/attachment, mindfulness/ACT, and cognitive-behavioural.

Importantly, this presentation is not about becoming a sex therapist, but applying sex therapy concepts and principles to everyday practice with the aim to dispel the common concerns many clinicians experience when faced with discussing sex and sexuality with their clients.
