In the current submission the APS restated our support for the Australian Government to consider the introduction of a comprehensive bill of rights and/or a Federal Multicultural Act as part of the strategy to strengthen multiculturalism and address racism and discrimination. The APS supports the principles of multiculturalism and diversity in the proposed Act and supports the establishment of a commission style body.

In addition, the APS emphasises the potential for a Multicultural Act to promote individual wellbeing across all communities.
