Submission to inquiry into accommodation for people with disabilities and the NDIS

This document is a submission made in 2016 by the APS to the Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme Inquiry into accommodation for people with disabilities and the NDIS.

In this submission, the APS draws on the available evidence to highlight the key principles for consideration in thinking about solutions and models to enhance individual and community-wide mental health and wellbeing. In summary, the APS recommends more opportunities for affordable and accessible housing to be made available within the framework of the NDIS, in co-operation with all levels of government.
