Clinical placements, simulation-based learning and virtual care in initial student health practitioner education are important and necessary components of health practitioner’s education as they help ensure graduates are equipped with the capabilities required for safe and contemporary health care practice.
This submission reviews the committee’s draft guidance and evidence-based strategies for continuous improvement of student learning in relation to clinical placements, simulation-based learning and virtual care. The response includes feedback from members regarding the good practice statements in the guidance and the evidence-based good practice statements that aim to help National Scheme entities implement the guidance.
