WA Australian of the Year
Psychologist Dr Tracy Westerman is Western Australia’s 2018 Australian of the Year. Tracy is an Indigenous psychologist who has worked in the areas of Indigenous mental health, cultural competency and suicide prevention to improve the lives of Indigenous Australians. One of Tracy’s most significant achievements has been the development of psychometric tests to measure the mental health of Indigenous youth and adults. She has provided expert input into Government enquiries on Indigenous mental health and substance use issues, has received scholarly awards for her work, and has been influential in informing initiatives for working with Indigenous
people across Australia and internationally.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division.
Ms Margaret Joan Young OAM MAPS, was recognised for service to people with a disability.
