Dr Sadhbh Joyce
Division of General Psychological Practice Significant Contribution Award
The APS Division of General Psychological Practice (DGPP) Significant Contribution Award encourages excellence and highlights the achievements of registered psychologists.
Sadhbh is an External Research Fellow with the Black Dog Institute, an adjunct lecturer at UNSW Medicine and the founder of online mental health program Mindarma. Sadhbh has more than 12 years private practice experience, including work in inpatient, outpatient and occupational rehabilitation settings. Sadhbh developed the 10-week ACT therapy outpatient program while working at The Hills Clinic, Sydney and provided psychological support to survivors and staff at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Childhood Sexual Abuse.
Sadhbh’s successful PhD research has advanced the understanding of psychological resilience, particularly amongst first-responders. She has translated this research into the evidence-based online program Mindarma which teaches practical skills to bolster psychological resilience and wellbeing. Mindarma has been adopted as a core workplace mental health initiative by organisations including NSW Ambulance, Ambulance Victoria, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Health, UNICEF, Reuters, Communities and Justice NSW, WorkSafe ACT, Mercy Health and UNSW Law.
