  • The APS Board of Directors recently approved three Ethical guidelines: two revised versions and one new one. The revised guidelines are: Ethical guidelines for working with young people and Ethical guidelines for psychological practice with clients who disclose memories related to traumatic experiences (previous title was Ethical guidelines for psychological practice with clients with previously unreported traumatic memories). The new guideline is Ethical guidelines for working with and in the media
  • If you hold an area of practice endorsement in a particular stream of psychology, you can apply for Fellow status of an APS College of the same stream by completing a one page form, and quoting your PsyBA registration number. The APS has now removed the processing fee for this type of application, and from 1 December 2018 the fee through to the end of the APS membership year is just $53.50. To read more
  • In the interests of transparency the National Boards of AHPRA have decided to introduce links to public tribunal decisions when serious allegations have been proven. No information about the notifications received by National Boards and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) will be published. The change is simply helping to make already publicly available information easier to find.
