Emerson Nottingham is a Registered Psychologist. Emerson has masters degrees in Educational Psychology and in Psychological Practice; she is a current PhD student at UNSW researching the effects of complex trauma on learning. Emerson has experience working across the lifespan, in addition to private practice, she works within Education and is experienced in providing cognitive and behavioural assessment for Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disorder (eg. dyslexia), ADHD, conduct and oppositional defiance disorders, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Emerson regularly works with children and adults affected by complex trauma, particularly stemming from family violence, abuse or neglect. Emerson uses a range of evidence based assessment tools to evaluate the presence of other mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD. She works collaboratively with clients and/or families to establish treatment goals and an evidence-based treatment plan.
