2025 APS Festival of Psychology Submissions FAQs

Presentation format requirements

In-person

•    A room will be provided to each presenter and we will aim to accommodate your preferred room set up (e.g. rows of chairs, round table with chairs, classroom set up, etc).
•    A laptop, projector/screen and speakers will be provided per room.
•    A whiteboard and/or flipchart will be provided on request.
•    All flights, travel and accommodation is at the presenter's own expense.
•    Some sessions may be recorded.

Can I submit more than one abstract?

We’re happy to accept a maximum of three presentations per individual presenter/submitter. This is to allow us to provide as many opportunities as possible in the program for the wonderful array of members to present.

Can I email, post, or fax my submission?

We know that post and email can be convenient but for this event, we’re only accepting submissions via the online portal. This way we can ensure that what’s submitted has been done so by you directly and ensures no errors are made by us having to enter data on your behalf. All reviewers will directly access the portal to review all submissions.

Can I include images, tables, or other items in my submission?

You certainly can include supporting images, tables via the submission portal. Please submit as one document. Only submit if they support your abstract directly i.e. without them your abstract would not make sense to the reviewer.

When will I find out if I've been accepted to present?

Submissions close on Sunday 7 July 2024 and you will receive an update from us in August 2024 about the status of your submission.

Will I receive compensation for presenting?

In lieu of a presenter fee you will receive the following benefits:

•    Recognition - Be recognised as an expert in your field. Being accepted into the conference program demonstrates that you have met the reviewers quality standards as an excellent leader and presenter in the industry.

•    Visibility - Increase your professional or company brand. Receive a wide reach of your presenter profile through conference marketing activities and direct access to an engaged audience.

•    Advance the profession - Align yourself with the leading psychology association in Australia in advancing and supporting the industry. Share your findings to build the knowledge and expertise of psychologists.

•    Get creative - Presenting allows you to develop your creativity and showcase your ability to share your findings in a dynamic way.

•    Networking - Discuss and expand your findings with other experts from around Australia in an intellectually robust environment.

•    Expand your opportunities - Presenting leads to possible other more opportunities as it may help you land the job of your dreams, attract investors to back your idea, or elevate your stature within your organisation.

•    Registration for presenters - Presenters will be required to register and attend the conference if presenting in person at a discounted presenter registration fee.

Who will be reviewing the submissions and making the final decisions?

Reviewers will be your peers from the APS Festival program taskforce.

Once all submissions have been reviewed, the program taskforce also consisting of
members of the APS Colleges, divisions, and member groups will then select which presenters are placed into the available speaking spots and content.
