Celebrating the impact of psychology in our communities
The theme invites APS members to share stories, reflections and activities that highlight the many ways psychology contributes to individual and community wellbeing across Australia.
Psychology Week 2025 also offers an opportunity to promote the breadth of the profession and increase public understanding of how psychologists support people in everyday life - through practice, research, education, supervision, and advocacy.
Psychology Week is an annual initiative of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), designed to increase awareness of psychology and the role of the APS.
It’s a flexible, member-led opportunity to highlight how psychology contributes to the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. We encourage APS members to celebrate in ways that are meaningful to them — whether that’s sparking a conversation, sharing a personal reflection, or hosting a low-key activity in their workplace or community.
We encourage members and individuals to interpret the theme in a way that is meaningful to them — and to celebrate Psychology Week in ways that reflect their community, their work, and their passion for psychology.
Explore how psychology is making a difference across Australian communities. The 2024 APS Major Award recipients showcase the profession’s impact in areas including mental health, education, supervision, rural outreach and public engagement.
