APS announces changes to Board leadership

APS-update

Dear members,

I wish to advise that three members of our APS Board of Directors, Dr Sara Quinn (President), Bianca Comfort (Vice President) and Tamara Cavenett, have resigned effective Friday 26 September 2025. Each Director provided their own reasons.

At times, there have been healthy differences within the Board. It is these differences in opinion to the majority that led to their departures and we respect their choices.

I also wish to advise that I will now step into the role of Acting President effective immediately to ensure continuity of governance.

We are grateful for the time, energy, and expertise Sara, Bianca and Tamara contributed during their time on the APS Board, and extend our best wishes to the departing Directors in their future endeavours.

In the meantime, the APS remains here for you. APS services, advocacy, journals, events and member support continue as usual. Our programs and priorities remain on track and our focus is supporting your work and strengthening the profession.

Next steps:

  • The Board has commenced the process to fill the vacancies in line with the APS constitution.
  • We will keep you updated on timings and outcomes.

We understand that you may have questions or concerns, and we are here to address them.

Please feel free to reach out to [email protected].

Regards

Andrew Chua MAPS GAICD
Acting President
