Did you know?

  • The deadline for meeting annual CPD requirements is 30 November 2012.
There is a complex array of mandatory CPD requirements for maintenance of general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, membership of the Australian Psychological Society, and Medicare provider status. Members are encouraged to use the APS online CPD logging system which has been designed to assist understanding and monitoring of individual CPD requirements. To assist members, the APS has also developed comprehensive CPD information about the various CPD requirements. The CPD guidelines and logging tool can be accessed from: www.psychology.org.au/cpd/
  • There are now 14 Honorary Fellows and 221 Fellows of the APS.
Of the Fellows grade, there is a noticeable increase in the proportion of women, from 33% (n=51) ten years ago in 2002 to 43% (n=96) in 2012. The representation across States and Territories is: Victoria – 79; New South Wales – 46; Queensland – 43; Western Australia – 18; South Australia – 17; ACT – 7; Tasmania – 3; NT – 3; and 5 are residing overseas. • The PsychXchange jobs website advertised a total of 1,818 jobs during the 2011-12 financial year. This represents over 151 advertisements per month. Coupled with almost half a million visitors and more than two million page views in that period, this cements PsychXchange as the major Australian search mechanism for both recruiters of psychologists and those seeking employment.
