The Australian Psychological Society awards the status of Life Member to those members who have held at least 50 years membership with the APS. The list of notable figures from the history of the Society includes ten past Presidents of the Australian Psychological Society, one past Chairman of the Australian Branch of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and five of the Society’s 10 Honorary Fellows. This year, there are eleven new Life Members of the Society. They are Dr Adrienne Bennett FAPS, Ms Barbara Bini MAPS, Mr Noel Braun MAPS, Professor Graeme Halford FAPS, Mr William Harries MAPS, Dr Daphne Keats FAPS, Miss Valerie McCallum MAPS, Dr Philip Neck MAPS, Mrs Alice Ronnenkamp MAPS, Dr Wendy-Lou Walker MAPS and Mr Daryl Webber MAPS.
The 69 current Life Members of the Society are listed below. Notably, nine of these Life Members have held APS membership for more than 60 years, a wonderful achievement (names are highlighted). They include three past Presidents of the APS and one past Chairman of the Australian Branch of the BPS. More than 1,000 current APS members have held membership of the Society for more than 30 years, and within the next two years 29 of these will attain Life Member status.
