We are a finalist in the 2021 Association of the Year awards

The resilience, innovation and tenacity of the APS, its members and staff has again been recognised with the organisation named as finalist in the 2021 Association of the Year awards for the second year running.

This recognition rounds out another successful year, during which the APS has been able to secure several advocacy wins and continue on its journey of transformation to deliver improved products and services for members, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Significant wins in 2021 have included many of our recommendations being included in the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention final report, including a ratio for school psychologists and growth of the psychology workforce, the introduction of case conferencing items, and sessions for parents and carers, to name a few.

We have also continued to increase our social impact, with extensive media coverage on the ongoing impacts of the pandemic and the need to support the mental health of the community throughout – and through – this crisis. Through our work, public awareness continues to grow around important issues like workplace mental health, suicide prevention, aged care, the disability sector, LGBTIQ+ issues, rural and remote health, and many, many more.

We’ve delivered these advocacy and campaign initiatives despite 2021 being another year of incredible challenge and change.

This nomination acknowledges the hard work and dedication of APS members and staff as we continue to advocate on behalf of the community to support mental health.
