Psychologists and coaches joining forces to Tackle Your Feelings

Psychologists and coaches joining forces to Tackle Your Feelings

Tackling mental health challenges is the goal of the Tackle Your Feelings program and in 2021 more than 80 APS psychologists embraced this wholeheartedly, delivering 162 workshops and reaching 4000 coaches from 359 clubs across every Australian state and territory.

In 2022, and for the third year in a row, we are partnering with the AFL Players' and Coaches' Associations to deliver more TYF workshops – this time with a focus on regional areas.

“We know that footy in towns across regional Australia is the lifeblood for social support and connection” says CEO Dr Zena Burgess.

“APS psychologists have already shown their passion for combining community-based sport with psychological training to help local footy clubs and coaches. By getting into even more clubs in 2022, we can continue to make a real difference to the lives of Australians.”

The program aims to reach 1000 clubs, 10000 community coaches and 100,000 players and parents by the end of 2024.
