A new direction for the Australian Journal of Psychology

A new direction for the Australian Journal of Psychology

The Australian Journal of Psychology (AJP) will be a fully open access journal, from January 2022.

The APS is championing open access for AJP to increase the discoverability, use and impact of members’ research in the field of psychological science. To date, the APS journals have supported optional open access publication, and we are pleased to take this next step in embracing open access options for our authors and the membership.

APS members will have the opportunity to submit research to the journal, with the article processing charge (APC) waived as a membership benefit for full members, at the discretion of the Editor in Chief.

In preparation for our move to open access in 2022, AJP will begin accepting open access submissions on 2 June 2021. All papers submitted to AJP after 1 June 2021, and accepted for publication, will be published under open access.

AJP will peer review all submitted papers as before, retaining rigorous quality control such that only meaningful and important new results are accepted for publication.

We are supported in this move by our publisher, Taylor & Francis, a publisher of over 280 open access journals with experience in converting more than 50 journals to the open access model.
