Raissa is curious about getting to know the person beyond the symptoms. She uses the therapeutic alliance as a powerful tool to explore the challenges and adversities that are part of the human experience, along with the full range of human emotions that connects us all.
She values creating a space where you can develop emotional awareness, build resilience, and feel more balanced, connected, and empowered to live a life that feels meaningful and purposeful.
Raissa recognises the mental health impacts from the systemic discrimination faced by certain communities and uses an intersectionality framework in her approach, which means that she considers how all the different parts of your identity (for example, your gender, disability, cultural background and/or body size) influence how you feel and how you live your life.
Raissa uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including ACT and CBT, and has recently begun using IFS-informed techniques in her practice.
