Dr Vanessa Petersen is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and director of Neurotype, offering neurodiversity-affirming assessments for children and young people aged 6 to 25.
Vanessa works with young people whose strengths and struggles don't fit neatly into one box. Her focus is on complex, overlapping presentations: autism with ADHD, giftedness masking a learning difference, ADHD and learning disorders, or the cognitive impact of neurological or medical conditions. These young people are often only partially understood, and they deserve a fuller picture.
Her approach is neurodiversity-affirming. Every young person has a brain that works in its own way, and Vanessa takes their challenges seriously while supporting who they are.
Reports are clear, practical, and designed to be used by families and schools. School support and NDIS letters are included.
Vanessa has over 15 years of experience across private and public health, including an ongoing role with Monash Health.
