I am an experienced clinical psychologist who has worked in private practice, psychiatric/alcohol and other drug settings, universities, and the community/not-for-profit sector. My clinical experience has involved therapy, assessments, and therapeutic group work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I also have extensive experience in management, supervision, and lecturing.
I primarily provide longer-term psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with a focus on adults who have experienced relationship challenges, traumatic experiences, or repeating patterns and behaviours that are causing distress.
Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be a helpful, intensive, longer-term treatment for working through a range of experiences. This process involves working on underlying causes of distress, rather than focusing on management of symptoms. This can increase self-understanding, which can lead to changes within and outside of therapy.
