July Lies started working in the field of mental health in 2008. Her area of focus in trauma-informed intervention to young people, adult, and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Having a great passion to understand human resilience in the midst of adversity, her research focused on understanding the risk and protective factors of people developing Post-traumatic Stress and has published a dozen peer reviewed journal articles.
As a keen believer of the model of a scientist-practitioner, July uses brain-based models to empower individuals to overcome the impact of early challenging experiences and develop a more adaptive and functional point of view.
As a family-inclusive and diversity-friendly therapist, July also provides affirmative support for clients of all backgrounds, gender identities, and sexuality. She has a special interest in working with trans, gender diverse and non-binary people.
