Webinar (Live) Event

ADHD and autism in the perinatal period: A neurodiversity-affirming approach

Organiser Banner

Overview

The APS hosts this webinar with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

This webinar explores ADHD and Autism in the perinatal period through a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed lens, with a focus on differential diagnosis and treatment considerations. The session aims to support psychologists to recognise when perinatal mental health presentations may be influenced by underlying neurodevelopmental differences alongside, or instead of, mood and anxiety difficulties.

Content will include key clinical features, assessment considerations, and differential diagnostic questions relevant to perinatal practice. The webinar will also outline treatment considerations, including how to adapt therapeutic approaches to better support neurodivergent clients during pregnancy and the postpartum period, and when referral for further assessment may be helpful.
