Understanding neurodivergent-affirming (NDA) practice

Overview

The South Australian Branch is pleased to present this workshop that is designed to give practitioners an understanding of working with a Neurodivergent Affirming (NDA) framework in practice, exploring the combination of NDA and the medical model, and exploring the myths of neurodiversity.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • understand the NDA practice
  • be able to juggle the NDA and medical models in practical applications
  • understand and challenge the myths surrounding neurodivergence

Ms. Emma-Rose Parsons

About the presenter(s)

Emma-Rose is the director of Spectrum House Psychology and has been working in the paediatric health area in Australia and abroad for over 20 years. She is passionate about the neurodivergent field and supporting practitioners and clients alike. Emma-Rose focuses on presenting information in an easily digestible manner, that at heart is applicable and user-friendly.

Registration includes light refreshments.

Parking onsite with some on the surrounding streets.

Target Audience

This event is aimed at all psychologists working with children/adolescents/parents.
