Overview

The APS hosts this activity with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

With 1 in 4 Australians being born overseas, awareness, knowledge, and skills are needed when working with these multicultural clients.

The relevance of a multicultural focus on our work becomes more evident since COVID-19 has increased prejudice and microaggression towards minority groups in Australia.

Psychologist’s multicultural competence often encounters themes of multicultural identification and increased multicultural awareness and knowledge, person-centred approaches and training, knowledge, and awareness.

This webinar aims to bring further knowledge in:

  • working with people from diverse world views, their families and multicultural communities,

  • culturally sensitive assessment and diagnosis, and

  • shaping interventions to facilitate insight on clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
