APS Professional development
Overview
The APS hosts this activity with the College of Clinical Psychologists.
In this on-demand activity, participants will learn about the recent developments in neuroscience in regards to attachment theory and right brain research.
This will be explored in the context of the therapist/client relationship, through right brain to right brain communications. This synchronisation of neural activity (from right brain to right brain), occurs in similar patterns between mother’s and infants through the neural substrates of voice, gesture and facial expression. This then helps to promote “synchronisation” and “interpersonal resonance” between 2 individuals.
An exploration of the fundamental significance of this finding to the “therapeutic alliance” will be discussed and explored, in the context of case examples and live demonstrations.
