Overview

The APS hosts this activity with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. 

The webinar aims to help psychologists be prepared and understand the potential pitfalls of working with families in dispute within the famiuly law system. It wil provide an overview of:

  • how the family law system works,

  • how a court may considers family violence and child abuse allegations, and

  • how to work effectively in this challenging arena.

Foundational. This activity is targeted to those new to the topic.

Access to this activity is for 12 months from the date of confirmed registration.

Dr Janina Szyndler MAPS and Ms Mabel Hui MAPS

About the presenter(s)

Dr Janina Szyndler is a Clinical Psychologist and Educational and Developmental Psychologist who also has a Diploma in Law. She originally qualified and worked in England before moving to Australia. She has worked with children and families for over thirty years and also has an interest in ASD across the life span and complex trauma. She has extensive experience of working with families at different stages in the family law system and regularly writes reports for the court. She has given evidence on numerous occasions. She is principal at Apex Psychology.

Ms. Mabel Hui is a Clinical Psychology Registrar at Apex Psychology. Prior to completing her Master’s in Clinical Psychology, she worked for eight years as a family lawyer. Mabel has an interest in therapy with families and children post-separation.
