APS College of Clinical Psychologists Student Research Travel Award is designed to acknowledge and promote research excellence in clinical psychology, by enabling postgraduate (PhD, Doctorate, or Masters) clinical psychology students to attend and present their research at international and national conferences. The award provides each student awardee with $800 towards conference registration/travel expenses.       Administration
      
	- The National Committee of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is responsible for administering and funding the Award
 
- Following the close of the call for nominations, the Chair of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, as well as the specified Selection Committee, will be notified of the candidates.
 
- The Award may be presented by the relevant State Chair of the National Executive of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists at a public forum.
 
      Eligibility
      
	- Nominees must be student members of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists at the time of application.
 
- Nominees must be, at the time of the application, students who are currently enrolled in an Australian Tertiary Institution in a postgraduate clinical psychology degree (PhD, Doctorate, or Masters). PhD students enrolled in a ‘psychology’ PhD (rather than a ‘clinical psychology’ PhD) are also eligible, provided their research is in the clinical psychology field.
 
- Nominees must be planning to attend an international or national conference to present their work, with that conference occurring within 18 months of the award application closing date.
 
      Selection criteria
      
	- In judging nominees for the Award, the Selection Committee will have regard to the following criteria:
	
		- The quality of the student’s proposed research that they plan to present at the conference.
- The extent to which attendance at the conference will contribute towards the student’s career.
 
- A selection committee will be responsible for recommending appropriate candidates to the board for endorsement.
 
      Nomination process
      
	- 
	Nominations will be called for annually using APS Digital Communication Channels. 
- 
	Students can self-nominate for the award. 
- 
	Applications must be submitted using the APS Member Groups Nomination Portal. A nomination requires the Award applicant to agree to the eligibility requirements as stated above and provide the following information: 
		- 
		The name, date, and location of the conference the student plans to attend. 
- 
		A description of the student’s research project that is planned to be presented at the conference (max 300 words). 
- 
		A description of how attendance at the conference is relevant to the student’s goals and is likely to help their career (max 300 words). 
- 
		The nominee’s curriculum vitae (max 4 pages). 
- 
		Proof of current enrolment in a postgraduate clinical psychology course (PhD, Doctorate, or Masters) at an Australian tertiary institution (e.g., an academic transcript, letter of proof of enrolment, etc.). 
 
 
 
      Value of the award
      
	- The successful applicants will receive $800 AUD to contribute towards conference registration/travel expenses.
- Receive relevant membership of the APS and the College for the next membership subscription period.
- Have their name and University communicated via APS digital communication channels.
- Receive a certificate of acknowledgment of their achievement, presented at a locally organised APS College of Clinical Psychologists event.
