The Victorian committee of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists invites students undertaking a Masters of Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Clinical Psychology, and Combined Masters/PhD (Clinical) to apply for a grant to conduct clinically relevant research projects which meet the award eligibility criteria.
Administration
- The Victorian Committee of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is responsible for administering and funding the Award.
- The Victorian Committee of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists will appoint a Selection Committee of three (3) College Fellows or Academic Members to be responsible for selecting an appropriate Award winner.
- The Selection Committee may recommend up to three Awards if there are projects of sufficient merit and available funds.
- Up to $1,000 per grant may be available for projects that meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
- Only Masters of Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Clinical Psychology, and Combined Masters/PhD (Clinical) students are eligible to apply.
- Up to $1000 may be available for projects that meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The project is led by a student pursuing post-graduate Clinical psychology research through a Masters of Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Clinical Psychology, or Combined Masters/PhD (Clinical).
- Innovation in the project or an aspect of project is desirable.
- The project will be conducted through a tertiary education institution in Victoria.
- Funds must be used within 24-month of receipt of grant.
- Funds must be used in the set-up or conducting of research (i.e. funds cannot be used for conference presentations or associated travel.
- At the time of submission, applicant must be an APS student associate or full member of the clinical college.
- Students must have received ethics approval for the project (ethics approval number required).
- Only one grant per student is permitted.
- It is expected that successful applicants will provide a brief and validated annual account of the project and the funds used.
- Funds will be administered as reimbursement or invoice payment by liaising with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists Victorian state section treasurer.
- Successful grantees are expected to attend the APS College of Clinical Psychologists Annual General Meeting to briefly present their study.
- The APS College of Clinical Psychologists Victoria reserves the right to waive the bestowing of grants in any year where the college deems no application to be suitable. Selection is merit-based and no individual feedback on grant applications will be provided.
- The maximum budget will not exceed $1000 and is clearly articulated and effectively itemized.

- Nominations will be called for annually using APS digital communication channel.
- Nominations must be received by by the advertised closing date.
- APS College of Clinical Psychologists Postgraduate Students Clinical Research Grant Applications must be submitted using the application/nomination form.
