Menopause: The Overlooked (Yet Significant) Life Stage

Overview

The goal of this seminar is for participants to leave with a basic knowledge of the stages, symptoms of menopause and the mental health risks in peri/menopause, the core developmental tasks of peri/menopause, and a model of working with women as they navigate this stage of life.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the stages, symptoms and mental health challenges associated with the menopausal transition
  • Describe the core developmental tasks of menopause
  • Describe the key phases of the Model of the Menopausal Developmental Transition

Ms. Kirsten Bouse

About the presenter(s)

Kirstin Bouse is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with nearly 3 decades of experience. Establishing Perth Psychology Collective 18 years ago, Kirstin has extensive experience in the areas of Family Court and Child Protection as well as running a group practice. Over the past 15 or so years, Kirstin has focused her energies on supporting women as they navigate significant trauma, life transitions (e.g., adjustment to motherhood and perimenopause/menopause). She is trained in and draws from attachment-focused, Gestalt, schema, EMDR and body-based therapies. Kirsten recently launched 'All About Her - The Centre for Menopause'.

Target Audience

This event is aimed at all psychologists.

Duration of Access

This event will be recorded. The recording will be emailed to all registered within 2 weeks post event and available for viewing up to 90 days
