Talk summary: Exploring the Role of Complex Trauma, Early Maladaptive Schemas, and the Need for Therapeutic Adaptations in Neurodivergent Individuals

This talk explores the intersection of neurodivergence and complex trauma, highlighting elevated mental health risks linked to adverse childhood experiences, attachment disruptions, and systemic adversity. It examines schema development in neurodivergent individuals and advocates for trauma-informed adaptations to Schema Therapy. The presentation also calls for broader societal change to reduce trauma exposure and support inclusive, affirming environments.
