Helping Children Regulate and Manage Anger Online Course

Overview

Children often present for therapy with angry outbursts, meltdowns and aggressive behaviours. Helping children and families to understand a child’s anger and build regulation skills is an important part of our work as therapists. This self-paced online course provides a comprehensive overview of emotional regulation and anger. It is full of practical tips for working with children and their grown ups, along with over 20 playful therapeutic activities that allow families to better understand and explore regulation and anger. Participants receive a copy of Fiona Zandt's new book, Creative Ways to Help Children Regulate and Manage Anger (rrp $66.99).

In this workshop you will learn about -

About the presenter(s)

Dr Suzanne Barrett and Dr Fiona Zandt are both Clinical Psychologists who work with children, adolescents and families. They have over 40 years combined experience working in a range of settings, including the Royal Children's Hospital, CAMHS, and private practice, with children and adolescents with a broad range of psychological problems. Their approach draws heavily on ACT, DBT and CBT, utilising developmentally appropriate playful strategies. They emphasise working with families and have a strong system focus.

Fiona and Suzanne are authors of the Creative Ways to Help Children book series for therapists published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers and have been running Creative Child Therapy Workshops together since 2014.
